I decided to do the brakes on two of my cars today. I got KFP Magnum golds for the track car and Greenstuff pads for one of my street cars. When I openned the pads I notice an immediate difference (besides the color of the pads). The Greenstuff pads were only 2/3 the thickness of the KFPs. I checked my order and the Greenstuff pads were the correct number (DP2104).
I thought the earlier 914s had the thinner pads. Anyone know if there is a different Greenstuff pad that is thicker that works with the 914? Kind of a bummer to start with 2/3 of a pad. |

The Textar pads are like that. It's kind of BS. But these pads are used on a bunch of different cars (AFAIK) and maybe the newest one takes thinner pads, so the rest of us suffer.

Keep in mind that different compounds wear differently.
A thinner pad does not necessarily mean it's going to wear faster. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |
