I am installing a 22mm bar and it appears to be hitting the gas tank. Any ideas? is this common?
I pulled the old bar out and tried to install this one. Any help? -- brett |

Your mounts may be too high. Some use a small piece of carpet if the interference is not too much. If your gas tank will not sit correctly, you have a problem.

The gas tank will also hit the sway bar if it is allowed to become centered to low in the mounting saddles. Watch were the mounting saddles get placed along with padding along the edges on back side of the tank.
If you placed the mounts on the flange edges on each side as the instructions gives on the instruction sheet, It is probably the tank is allowed to set too low in the mounting saddles. How do I know?? Using after market sway bar (22mm) and did just the above, The attachments to the top of the gas tank should just barely clear the hood thus fitting into the knitches and ribs of the hood. Steve |
