Time to put your driving skills to the test with the Porsche Owners Club Short Track Series Events #2 and #3, April 8th and 9th. I'll be there with my '75 914/6 3.2. If you've never run your car on the track, the POC provides a full day of excellent instruction over 4-5 20 minute run sessions. And if your previous track experience has been parking lot auto-x, it will only take one 11 lap run session through the varying turns and elevation changes, almost redlining in 4th gear, to wonder why you ever spent an afternoon waiting to run a single lap through a sea of 2nd gear turns in a flat parking lot again.

More info can be found on the Porsche Owners Club website. See you there!

First of all, Sandy. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/welcome.png) Since you're local, keep an eye out here for our weekend fun runs.

I've been trying to drag these guys out there for a couple of years with limited success. We did rent Streets for WCC 2005 and hooked a few. Not sure if I will make this event.

Allan...it's a great club ! Laurie Taylor is the membership sec. Membership is not expensive- and "Velocity" magazine is superb.
You should check out Cal Speedway on 03-24 and 03-25 POC and PCA is throwing their festival of Speed. I'll be there on Sunday. PM me if you're going.

Thanks, Howard. Sorry to hear we'll miss you in April at Streets. Maybe June?

I'm on a personal mission to get everyone to the track. I had the good fortune (or made the tragic mistake) of taking Otto's advice and attending my first POC STS drivers school event in Jan. 2004. I was immediately hooked, lined, and sunk. Pushed my '69 911E to the edge of the slippery slope before I bought the 914/6 3.2. Now I've got no excuses for the slow times.

A 914Club track day at Streets or Big Willow would be AWESOME. Please let me know about the next fun run. I've started posting here and been posting on the POC and Pelican boards for a while.

Another (like WCC2005) 914club day at SOW would definitely be sweet.

I'm shooting to do the TT a couple weeks later on the big track and will have to duck out of the Streets event due to a work deadline.
