Danny, (Shelby/914) told me that the Shelby club was having a open house at the Shelby Museum not far from home.
Hudson and I have been there before but wanted to see what showed up in the parking lot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Hudson with Danny's car Falcon of my dreams (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) NICE (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) |

that might be the best pic of the day - the smile is awesome. You might want to get him interested in V8 Pintos tho'... bit cheaper hahaha. I forgot my camera of course rushing to work in the AM, but will be going back for sure when there are less people and I can pick the curator's brain. I really want to talk to him about the GT40 with the dual overhead cam SBF. I believe those were either experimental Gurney-Westlake items or Holman-Moody, but just seeing that in the museum just shows the extent of coolness there. And the all alum 427 on display behind it with the monster transaxle, funky timing chain cover they mounted the engine in with, etc. Just the parts "laying around" are fantastic. The other GT with the 305 inch SBF with Holman Moody experimental heads on it too. Crazy. Those heads and the new LS Chevy heads look a lot alike on the exterior for instance. Purty bitchen. Saw an article years ago in a Mustang magazine about those heads and always wanted to cast up a similar head for sales (checked into it a few years back as an aftermarket offering but didn't feel like dropping $50K up front on tooling for casting in China and machining in Australia.... different story in the saga of Tim (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) |
