I have an '86 Carerra front end for my car and I'm wondering is there any benefit to swapping the steering box? My 914 box is tight and only has 40K miles on it. Is the Carerra box higher ratio, or anything else that makes it worth swapping or should I just keep the 914 box?? Inquiring minds want to know???(well, at least mine!)
Also, has anyone ever used a steering u-joint for a shift coupler?? It seems like it would hold up to the limited movement well and seems pretty robust and readily available. Just a thought......... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Same part - use whichever is in better condition.
I have put a steering u-joint in the shift linkage before - go for it. |
