I went out and started my blue 914 this morning and it runs perfect (to me) as long as the oil filler cap is Off it runs GREAT.
I'm guessing that it should'nt be blowing air out of the oil filler hole but it is, there is no color to it just plain ole air. We know I can't run it with no oil filler cap so whats the fix?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

the vent hose from the oil filler cap is supposed to go to your air-filter if you DON'T have a PCV valve in the filler cap (just the metal mesh crap) OR, if you have a PCV valve in the filler cap, the vent hose is supposed to go to the throttle body (that gives it more vacuum so it opens the valve easier) ...
if you have a PCV valve and don't connect a hose at all, the valve won't open. if you just connect the hose to the air filter, the valve also won't open. it needs the vacuum from the TB. if you don't have the PCV valve, the hose needs to go to the air filter, if you connect it to the TB, it will suck way too much air out of the case and you can hear your engine scream really bad.
