All,
I introduced myself in a previous thread, and have been searching the forums for various topics, and have seen a couple of threads related to the events and members in the greater Cincinnati area, which is where I'm located. I'd be interested in knowing who's around me with the same addiction. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I plan to do much of my own work, but sometimes I may not be able to, or need some mentoring as it were. So getting to know folks locally would be great. Also if there are businesses that are fluent in 914's, that would be really comforting if I get in way over my head. (plus I'm gonna need a paint job someday, and knowing who to use locally would be nice.) So if your in or around Cincinnati, let me know, I'm actually in Liberty Twp, near West Chester, and hopefully you may actually see my car on the road in the weeks to come. Closer to Louisville? It's only 1:30 away from you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

More like 2:00 to GE park, but who's counting? That can be a long trip in a 40 year old car. I am only 35 - 45 minutes away, and I am still a bit nervous, given my car's love for flatbeds. I am going to put her up on the stands this weekend for a once-over before I make the drive. She has not proven to be road-trip worthy since I brought her out of a multi-year hibernation. But still looking forward to meeting you guys. Is everyone planning on registering, or just parking. I wonder if they will let us park together? I have only been to this even once, probably 8 years ago. It is entirely possible that we could all be there and never have occasion to meet. We might want to think of some way to organize on our own, rather than trust luck. Maybe meet at an agreed area at a particular time or something like that. Any ideas??? |

I was going to register, and was planning to drive down the night before and camp out. I think the guys doing this are pretty cool, I'll see if I cant get them to set aside a bit of 914 real estate if I can give them a number, sounds like in the 4-5 range? |

Everyone be sure to attend the free open house at Mark's Metalkraft Coachwerks the afternoon before the show on the 30th @ 4-7pm on Sept. 29th. Always lots of cool vintage VWs, Porsches, Bentleys, Lamborghinis etc. being restored + tasty food provided in years past... an unexpected treat in a building that could be mistaken for an old empty factory from the outside. |

I agree - Mark puts on a nice little party. Not sure if I can make it, but he is up there with Scotty and a couple others here in his talents. Last time I was there, he had a Ferrari 512BB, a Lamborghini Muira SV, a couple of 911s, a 914, 3 or 4 356s, and a couple of VWs in the shop. Definitely worth the visit. |
