I have a pair of 914/6 heat exchangers, but the header pipes on one side (I believe it is the passenger side) are thin and rusted through in several spots. The sheet metal is in good shape, and the other side is useable. Given that these original parts are now essentially unobtainium, I'm wondering if repair is possible. Anyone have any thoughts or experience on this?

These are still available at the dealer, about $5,000.00 a set. Headers are an option, or I'm sure the big Hershey, Pa. meet will have a good used set. Marty I did a world wide search through Porsche. . . Nope Not available any more in any Porsche warehouses or dealers. . . Last price when they were available was around 1900 a side. . unless some place has a set stashed away that is out of the Porsche Parts system, and they are sitting on them. . |
