I ordered new VW type 1 lobro cv joints for my 914 but the 2 roll pin holes need to be bored out to 10mm X 20mm deep. I was wondering if I can just bore out the hole on my drill press with a 10mm drill bit or do I need to have the hole machine larger with a end mill by a machine shop?

I have used a drill press with good results. Find the biggest drill bit that will fit in the hole. Chuck it in the drill press, insert it in the hole, then clamp the joint to the drill press table. Remove bit and install the ten mm bit. Your bigger hole will be centered. Set the depth of the bit before you drill.
