Sorry to rehash old threads again, but we're about to embark on this project soon, I hope. We're looking at possibly either a, turbo'd 2.0 Type 4, Subaru or SBC v8 and an automatic transmission(for the veterans). My question, what transmission would work. I've read that Auto(fwd or 5000 model) will work. Passat trannys are the same as Boxsters, and Subaru fwd trannys.
Any suggestions or recommendations? We hope to do this over the winter. We'd appreciate any suggestions to help us finally get this done. Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

944 distributor sticks out in the front of the motor. You would need a wasted spark setup or the cap and rotor will be part of the passenger seat.
Buy a VW passat V6 or I4 with an auto tranny. Easy fit and is still German. You will want a 1999 to 2002 year. |

On the VW, how bad would the wiring be? Turbo or non? |
