Just as an FYI I'll add that with LN Nickies you can push the AFR as high as 14:1.
Iron no more than the 13.5:1 My T4 powered VW bug has Nickies and I run 14:1, you can do this because of the aluminum cylinders superior heat transfer rate. |

Iron no more than the 13.5:1 My T4 powered VW bug has Nickies and I run 14:1, you can do this because of the aluminum cylinders superior heat transfer rate. Is max 13.5:1 at WOT? My car runs 12.5:1 at WOT but cruising down the freeway at 70 mph and light load at the very top of the idle jets the AFR is ~16:1. The second I put my foot into it to climb a grade it drops back to < 13.5:1. I only see CHTs >335F on a long steep grade, then CHT can climb to 375F. Thanks for clarifying. |
