Hi, I have a 71 914, can anyone tell me the part number and where to get the switch? Also the wheels are 5.5 and 7" rear 14" western. What size tires should I put on them. Do they make a 8"or 9" 10 Spoke Western Wheel with the 4 lug 130 pattern?
When I put the key in the tail lights go out. And when I pull it out the come on. It kills the battery. I was told the ignition switch could be the bad guy. Any thoughts? Thanks, Don |

Unfortunately they're no longer available. There is a similar unit for VWs that's available, but I haven't looked into how difficult it would be to install.
You can swap to a later column, but it takes some cutting and welding. If the key still works to start the car, you can build a bypass circuit for everything else without hacking into the harness or otherwise mangling the car. |
