Dear 914 Brain Trust:
I am installing original Fog Lights on my ugly '76 front bumper, but apparently my steel bumper is not original - I understand all original '76 bumpers had the mounting flanges on them for the fog lights. Mine does not have these flanges. From my view, installing the fog lights is the only thing one can do to redeem the bad looks of these government-mandated monsters. I can easily make and weld on the necessary flanges, but would prefer a picture or drawing of what they look like on the original bumper - but cannot find one anywhere. If anyone has such a pic or drawing, I would really appreciate your providing it. TIA, again, GN |

GN, In my limited experience bumpers without fog lights did not have brackets. I fabricated mine and unfortunately I do not have access to my pictures. I made a template out of cardboard after measuring.
I bent some flat bar stock drilled and riveted it to the bumper. Some pictures of the results http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...=327995&hl= And a pic of an original bracket is in this thread http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...=313343&hl= |

Solex -
Thank you - exactly what I needed. Top of mounting plate flush with line on bumper, 2 pieces of small maybe 3/4" angle (in metric of course) with a plate across top with mounting hole. I can make that. But would love a pic of what you did - cannot imagine how you did it with flat stock riveted to bumper......have a pic of your solution? It sounds simpler.
