Porsche is into building high end cars with a high profit margin. There is no reason for them to build a less expensive model, if anything, it would devalue their high end product. The intro Porsche isn't going to happen. It has in the past (914, 924, Boxster, Cayenne), and it has maybe saved the company. I see no reason why it may not happen again. I agree that it's not going to be commonplace as that would devalue the brand, but one new entry level car every decade or two could be a smart plan. As for the fan-made rendering. Looks neat. Certainly Porsche would take a more thorough design approach, but the image is good enough to push home the point. I would happily drive that car. |
