Several months and $2100 dollars later.....my '76 runs....and seems to run well! Idles at 1400 RPM but I haven't timed it and it does have a few hoses disconnected......
Turns out all I neded all along to get it running for more than 3-5 minutes was a 3 ohm resistor on my Jacobs coil....!! So for the first time since buying it I gave it a once over underneath; Seems I have front and rear option sway bars...so will make upgrading a bit easier. Looking at PO's receipts, 20k on 2.0 Euro piston update and vavle job, new rotors on rear and rebuilt calipers..... Now just get some safe tires and 1 time smog check (it passed Calif last year......) and I might have a driver by mid summer!! |
