The Central Florida 914 get together was a success. Not as many people showed as indicated, but none the less there was an awesome showing of enthusiastic 914 owners.

I threw some more pics on your thread on Pelican Parts' site.
Thank God ... the day was OUTSTANDING!!! Sunny, with blue skies peppered with clouds. I ran top-off all the way to Orlando and half way back. My face and forehead burned to a crisp before I finally had to put the top back on in Lakeland. Next time, I'm bringing a HAT! Next time, we can't "booth" it; we have to go to a place that has tables and chairs with some elbow room! ein 6er's ponytail kept brushing against me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ; shouda grabbed me some duct tape outta Paul's trailer! But those hot wings were good, even though they came back to haunt me later. I brought enough tools to swap that engine outta Paul's AXer; swear, I would've been done in 2 hours. But MAN, Martin's twin-plugger ... that sucker was to DIE for! And if you wanted to know what a "6" looked like back in 1970, Doug (ein 6er) had it hands down. That silver was melting a few retinas. The 914-V8's rear spoiler must've stopped every cop cruiser roaming the mall area; even the landscapers weed-whacked a few bald spots checking out THAT car. If we get together again, I'm there. I have no problem whatsoever keeping the meet in Orlando, if only because it's centrally located. And I don't care to what degree the car is done in (stock, conversion, racer, etc); the more the merrier. |
