I admit that was a WAG.
It isn't the trans, it's HP. My limiter is set at 7100, my tire size is about the same as yours. I usually shift at about 6500(hp starts falling off there)....unless I need that last little bit of gear so as not to *have* to shift....I don't mind doing 20 -30 feet on the limiter.
