Over the past couple of months I pulled the headlight assemblies, replaced the doors, front and rear lids with GT Racing's fiberglass parts. On Saturday I did a corner balance and the final weight with me in the car, all driving gear, full tank of gas and my cool shirt cooler full was 2230 pounds. Before the reduction it was 2513 with the same setup. Not bad since the car was originally all steel with late model doors and a six.

I weighed both front and rear bumpers at about 17.5 lbs each (with rubber tops) from my '72. I also have the front deck lid weighing in at about 30.5 lbs. How much do the fiberglass decks weigh and who's the manufacturer?
Joe, What are your plans to reach 1640 lbs.? Thanks, Bill |
