lyrics- gonna see can i find the actual music
lyrics are 1: He wanted a challenge to the car and to his driving skills. This car had been his dream. That itself was half the thrill. He wanted a challenge to commemorate the day. But he never dreamed that he'd come so close to throwing everything away. 2: Departing the showroom, burning rubber in the first three gears. The salesman shook his head. He had seen the same for years. Departing the showroom, had to make a sudden stop. Had he kept on through that one traffic light, he would have hit a traffic cop. CHORUS A: First time out in his brand new Porsche, He wanted a scenic route that would put it to the test. First time out, as a matter of course, He took Mulholland Drive from Latigo to the Angeles Crest. BRIDGE A: Then he kept his speeds to the limit, PCH through Malibu, glad his girlfriend wasn't too timid; she enjoyed the ocean route. But, then that right on Latigo, all her fears came right in her face: every twist and turn on the mountain roads as he ran his deadly race. 3: White knuckles and pale skin, she was clinging to the leather seat. Her pleas to please slow down would be those he would not heed. White knuckles and pale skin, when a faun jumped in their way. Then the massive brakes brought a screeching stop. The deer would see another day. CHORUS A: BRIDGE B: Then he kept his speeds within reason for at least three miles or more, 'til the 101's open season & he put it to the floor. Did all the distance in no time, but he still was breaking it in. As they whipped and weaved on Mulholland Drive, he'd an imbecilic grin. 4: He wanted a challenge, but all these had been familiar roads. When they hit Angeles Crest, he went up a higher mode. He wanted a challenge. What he got was a small landslide that would throw the car up against the rail & just about- down the side. CHORUS B: First time out in his brand new Porsche, he wanted a scenic route that would put it to the test. First time out, on the ultimate course, He took his brand new car & he turned it right into a big mess. |
