'98 Suburban 4WD, new "bling bling" 18" wheels and 285/60-18 Kumho Ecsta STX's
Had local tire shop align the truck at the same time the new wheels were installed ...now the thing grabs wear grooves in the pavement like crazy. If I let go of the wheel on a bad road, it will swerve back and forth in the groove very badly. The alignment guy re-checked the settings after i complained but said that they were right on w/ factory specs...which (he says) is some small number (1/2 or 1 deg) of POSITIVE camber on the fronts!? Does this sound right? The tire shop says that it is all due to the wide tire...but I think there is still some alignment issue going on. Anyone have some insight? Thanks BH Here is a pic of the "Secret Service Wagon" Attached image(s) |

so is it a combination problem w/ tires AND alignment.... new tires too wide for the stock settings? ...or something like that?
