I have a picture album of my 914, and when I cross a state line for the first time, I snap a picture at the sign that says "Welcome to Wherever". The only state that I think I'm going to have a problem with is Hawaii - since you can't exactly drive there.
However, next year is 2004, so I'm starting to plan my next major roadtrip for then. I was thinking about driving to Alaska and back. Anyone actually made that trek through the bear and wolf infested wilderness? -Rusty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif) P.S. This post will probably make someone's head spin around... cause I think they might rather go to Vegas or New Orleans. |

"Off Road" really isn't the correct phrase, it is actually "The Road". Meaning that it is the only road for you to drive on, no matter what shape it is in. These aren't the same roads you are used to driving on. Not the nice interstate system you are used to. A few years back I tore the upper control arm off an S15 when I hit a pothole in North West Ontario. Ripped it right off the frame. Used a cinch cargo strap to hold it in place and limped into the next town. I had to leave the truck because it would take 3 days to get the parts and to line up someone to weld the arm back on. Flew home
and back a week later to pick it up, $1,200 airfare and $500 to fix the truck. Not to mention the 3 hour car ride to get to the bus, which was another 5 hour ride to get to the airport. You meet the nicest criminals on buses. AAA would be a good source for trip information. Ferry schedule's, road condishion info, ect. |
