Last weekend I bought the 1970 914-6 advertised in the want ads. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) This was the car in Ohio. I'm just getting the time to start going over it, and wanted to share pictures. I got this car for 12K! More pictures at 1970 914-6
The wheels are in the truck for new rubber tomorrow. I'm pulling the engine Next Monday to go over everything. Valve job, fix oil leaks, clean up everything. (IMG:http://willess.com/raceweb/images/1970%20914-6/P0003763.JPG) |

The covered car is my 73 2.0. I guess it's for sale now.
Toby's 3.6 car sold to a local AZ guy. He had to do some tranny work, and is concerned about the rear shock towers, but he's having lots of fun. He promised me that I could drive the car next time we're at the track together. I'm interested in comments about the suspension setup on my new car. I have the following plans for the car. Front and rear fiberglass bumpers Front Mounted Oil Cooler Rust Repair: The floor pan has 4 spots that are soft and need to be replaced. I could not find any structural rust on the car. The body has 3 locations where rust is bubbleing under the paint. I'm not that concerned with these spots at this point. I want to get the car cleaned up and track ready ASAP. |
