I used a charcoal colored cut pile marine carpet. (The "marine" part supposedly meant extra UV resistance.) Kind of a salt and pepper look up close, grey with the glasses off.
Looks OK, but cut pile doesn't look quite "period" in the teener. If I had it to do over again, I'd go with the OEM gray Perlon. Saw a concours winning Black -6 done up that way, it was awesome, and it had a definite "vintage Porsche" look. |
