The old paper parts manuals talked of "cheeshead" fasteners for almost everything related to engine tin, as well as other applications (headlight areas, etc). Now, with PET, fasteners are rarely referred to as cheeseheads, and usually referred to as half-rounds and panheads.
What's the diff? Pat |

Cheesehead is like a big round of cheese, flat sided, flat top, a basic cylinder.
Panhead is a basic domed head with little or no defined side to it. Half-round I don't know. |
