Hello again everyone,

So I am putting the shift knob back on after redoing the carpet, and of course it's a little loose. Should I replace that little ring (compression fitting?)? It seems to me that there was a thread on this recently and that you could find those at the hardware store, but I can't find the thread.

Thanks,
Zach

That piece is called the crush ring and should be replaced I believe that you can get one at most of the usual Porsche parts and accessory places on line.
