I'm getting ready to drop in a 2.0 twin turbo so it's a good time to repaint and I want the color to reflect speeed baby! The original color was orange, but the PO painted it silver. Does anyone have the pic of the factory color chart? I've seen it before, but damned if I can find it when I need it. Also, I am welcoming color recommendations. I am thinking about painting the sails and Mahles to match. I know a lot of you will say go original, but I don't care for orange that much. Yellow is faster brigade, I hear you, but I am leaning towards a sky blue. Give me some input dudes, including pics of your car's color. This is a one time deal and I want to make a choice that I am both happy with and will not detract from the resale value. Talk to me!

Nope... nobody has color charts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act=colors http://members.rennlist.com/chuxter/914Colors.htm Anything that you choose to paint it other than the original color will most likely detract from resale value, especially from someone who values original cars. The more changes on the car, the more you potentially reduce the pool of buyers who will want your car later. IMO, paint it what you like - but don't expect a 914 to be an "investment" for resale in a couple of years. A true color change (floors, wheel wells, trunks, etc) can be quite expensive... or if you have the skills, very time-consuming. There are several very good threads here about full repaints done in the garage. |
