I like the look (and ease of replacement) of the bolted-on GT flare. Does anyone have detailed (up-close) pics of this treatment? What size/number/type of screws or bolts were used.
Please post pics Thanks BH Attached image(s) |

Hi All -
I unfortunately do not have pics on my office computer, I will post some this evening. Mine are bolt on - no rivets. The gasket I used between the flare and the body is a "heavy duty" vw bug fender gasket. The heavy duty moniker gives toy a bigger bead. They were super cheap - like 10.00 for the whole car. The flares use a stainless rounded button head phillips machine screw on a hard rubber washer. Undernieth is a small fender washer and nylock nuts. This was what the guys at Better Bodies told me they were using on their GT2 body kits. I did mine this way as I loved the look of the old 934, and I simply dont trust the adhesives in terms of future cracks (we had a 70 degree temp swing here in less than 6 hours - and that is not uncommon). I have had them off several times - it makes strut/shock and brake work SO easy. Sorry for the delay - again, check back later tonight tomorrow. Scott S |
