I've been a member for about 2 years now. The group is definitely more older guys, but panorama has good articles and excellent photography. Around Austin, they do some wine tastings, hill country drives, lunches, and get togethers, while in Houston they are more an autocross/DE group.

Whats that mean? Im 43 going on 30, but Ive owned Porsches since I was 20.

Metro NY region ( my region) has I think the second highest membership in the country..We do15-18 DE's a year, and equal number of AX, some "treks" a few rallies....concours bla bla bla..

Pano has a good tech articles....but since far fewer 914s were made than othe Porsche models, you dont get alot of 914 questions...

The club is what you make it...

I've been a member since '89 and I double think it every time it comes up to renew. It does take awhile to get to be known and make some friends but people do come around.

Like someone said earlier, its what you make of it. The more you do, the more fun it is.

As far as Pano, of course they don't have a lot of 914 stuff, and how much more can written about the f---ing 917? But I read it in about 15 minutes than its on the shelf.

So you waited 10 years to join after you got your 914? That's discipline! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

In and around 1970, I worked on a 914/6 race team. I owned (me and the bank) a 914/4 and the "Club" didn't recognize it as a "Porsche". As Mikez said "EFF 'EM" (I carry grudges a long time). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/finger.gif)

Ditto. Since they didn't want me then, I'm not interested now.
