Today was a fun filled 914 day. Drove the 74 this morning, replaced the pedal assembly on the 75 this afternoon. @bdstone914 the core will be sent back to you on Monday. It looks pretty good.
Out with the old, in with the new!

Thats a nice looking shark @MB911 , thinking that one was a steal.

I also looked at my 914-6, then went back to work on the 7 series.

Well sunny day, dry roads and no salt in Michigan yet so I went for a ride. Only the parking lot at the Metropark had snow.

Thanks @914forme for the price of a set of my -6 heat exchangers its a fantastic deal.. it does need a hood and a bunch of wiring and accessories in the engine compartment but still likely have less then 6k in this car total done

Drove the '73 today from my shop home. Nice drive, in the 60's and sunny. Oil temp barely made it to 180!

Taking engine sheet metal to powdercoater tomorrow for the '71...

Installed some rear trunk gas struts, these happen to be used units from our Volvo since I put brand new ones on that car.

Got the '71 ready for some undercarriage cryo-cleaning... longitudinals don't look bad for 50 years do they? And I even had to drive it in IA winters the first 4 years. (though I did take the rockers off at least twice every winter to clean them out!)Attached Image

Finished the first of my winter projects,
Ran new 12ga wiring to the front mounted fuel pump.

Replacing the 16ga wiring I had installed back in the early 80’s when I originally moved the fuel pump to the front.

For years it worked flawlessly but about 2 months ago I had an issue where the fuel pump quit, and I had to ride a flatbed home.

When I got it into the garage I went through the usual litany of tests, suspecting a failure in the harness, relay or relay board.

When I originally did the wiring I had put male/female spade connectors in the wiring running along the tunnel. This would allow me to test the fuel pump or run it to empty the tank etc. all the positive leads tested good, BUT the failure point was the spade connector on the Negative side.

Anyways today I ran a new 12ga wire from the rear through the passenger comp to the fuel pump and instead of going back to the original neg wire in the engine comp, I ran another 12ga brown wire to the ground point near the fuse box.

Tomorrow I will take it for a test ride but I expect to have no more problems with this.

Next I'll be waiting on the FI harness I ordered from Jeff Bowlsby. and when it arrives, that will be my 2nd winter project.

I have had a couple minor electrical issues last year and although each time I suspected the FI harness it turned out to be something else.

So this new FI harness will ease my mind and eliminate a future failure point.
