Painted this while it's too cold outside to do anything else. Just a small thing, but why are freshly painted parts so gratifying? Can you guess what it is?

Hey, I finally get to post something on this thread! I got the car ready for the upcoming autocross season. I took last year off due to COVID, but going to get back to it this year.
- Adjusted shifter to solve the 'difficult to get first gear' problem - Balanced the throttle bodies on the MFI - Took a plug reading to confirm mixture on the MFI - Took some caster out of the front end and maximized camber - And the best thing I did, took a drive in the sunshine. Car sure does get a lot of looks. |

Went to a Euro car meet up in San Carlos Ca which ended up being a bunch of new cars. Blew that scene and had breakfast with the kids up at Alice’s in Woodside. Great bunch of cars. The DeLorean was originally owned by the founder of Mongoose bikes back in the 1980’s. Stripes were actually painted not a decal.

Mocked up the Subaru steering column and checked my personal space with the seat in place. The wheel is in the full tilt up position and my entry clearance is more than good.

There has been a break in our usual weather (rain) that is due to revert back to normal tomorrow with a dusting of snow possible by the beginning of next week. Today I took the teener out for a drive to keep the battery charged and the tires round (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .
The car is forty-seven years old and is a lesson in haptic feedback. Unlike my modern daily driver, the steering gives you real road feel and the suspension is tight enough that you feel each bump and pebble. You actually have to use you own hands to roll the windows up and down. The stereo is, well, not. There is a clutch and you have to change the gears yourself. You sit lower than everybody else around you. Your survivability in a collision is lower (don't test this yourself) and the interior is not as quiet as the average daily driver. Seats are not heated nor automatically moveable. Adjustable lumbar support is not available. There is no blind spot warning nor back-up camera so you actually have to look over your shoulder when changing lanes or backing up. The car defines visceral. I love it. |

I got hit in the rear back in the 80’s but nothing like that. Ouch (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) Can she be fixed.
