Your survivability in a collision is lower (don't test this yourself) I tested it. I hope I never test it again. ... also, what's status on your car now? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) The donor car is going to media blasting this week. Parts have been supplied, and it is in the hands of the body shop now. |

I'll do that when I get more time- my desktop is slow as molasses tonight... just a couple quick pix I took when they were done.
They are a local AZ place that will do it remotely- I should have done it outside but it was actually supposed to rain in the valley of the sun today! It left a hell of a mess on the floor but really no residual on the car itself. I did a 1/2 day supply of dry ice. Took off a lot of the 50 year old Ziebart I put on back then. That stuff was mess but probably saved my car as it was my only car for its first 4 years and had to be driven in IA winters. |

There's a neat online video of a 914/6 being cryo-cleaned.

Nice clean up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)
There is a shop here in So Cal that specializes in this process. Yes, recent 914 experience. They perform all sorts of reconditioning up to Concours type repairs as well. Located in 92627 Oscar |

drove it here taking the long way, to see a mate, got sunburnt, getting hot and tomorrow is worse - volcanic heat on the way. bright outside below the equator.
hauled his it#2 out of his garage after 15 months. it#2 started. we washed it #2. then drove it #2. never driven one before. made my 21st century. |

I covered 'HOWARD' with a quality car cover, since the weather reports are predicting rain for the next few days.
Prior to fitting the cover, had to place a large sheet of cardboard where there was once a nice windshield (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |

I cleaned my spare front bumper to have it rechromed and have the holes for the "tits" removed.
Back side had a thick coat of wax on it and getting rid of it was sort of a mess with lots of acetone as a solvent. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1611406495.1.jpg) |

Have you found a good local source for repair/rechroming? |

I installed a Mandalorean Razor Crest shift knob on my Rennshift.
https://www.etsy.com/listing/752909526/its-...ef=yr_purchases To make it work, I also bought a M16 to 3/8-24 adapter kit from Amazon and bought a 3/8-24 bolt from Home Depot and cut the bolt head off with a dremel tool. took in some local sights and a beautiful sunset here in SC, hanging out with my youngest cruising around in the 914, she was surprised by how much attention the 914 gets!

Got the 914Rubber ez install master cylinder in position and the reservoir tubing connected. A set of long hose pliers saved us from a lot of cussing and no small amount of time. Next weekend we’ll plumb the brake lines.
