Took the car to the local Cars 'n Coffee event this morning. Had about 40 nice hot rod cars that showed up. Great weather.
I walked back over to my car to find 2 guys giving it the serious eyeball. As I walked up to my car they asked if it was mine. I said, "Yes, it is." Then the guys voice started to sound familiar and I realized the guy was Steve Moal of Moal Coachbuilders in Oakland. He is a 3rd generation Coach builder. If you ever caught the episode of Chasing Classic Cars with Wayne Carini, where Wayne has a complete hand-made hot rod built, (the "Moal Speedway") Steve Moal is the man who built that car for Wayne. I absolutely loved that car. Anyway, Steve told me, "This is a beautifully done car. The best example I have ever seen. They don't get any better than this." Then we talked about cars in general. He is a great guy and I have admired his work for a long time. I was truly grateful that he looked at my car and thought so highly of it. He noticed all of the details we had done to it. This is the highest compliment the car could get in my opinion. @Banananose914 @914350 and @Socalandy and Bob can all be proud of their work. Here is a picture of Wayne Carini's car, built by Steve Moal Coachbuilders in Oakland, CA: |

G e o r g e stopped by to pick up his trailer and while here, took a quick peek at HOWARD's injuries from my accident back in December. I'll need to take it over to Kent's shop @914350 to get an assessment sometime in the future (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Got an order of parts from the best vendors ever, 914Rubber (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)
Odd ball parts to keep pushing the cars details to 10/10. I think I might have popped the seal on my rear window (plexi because of cage) so I ordered a new one (old one had scratches) as well as the butyl and also all the stuff to pull my door panels (new door plugs, vapor barriers etc) so I can lube up the door latching mechanisms as well as pull the lock tumblers out so I can get the passenger door, F/R trunks keyed out finally so everything matches. Cooling flaps because mine are missing and they're 'cool' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

Got the engine bay door to open without sticking. Finished cleaning up the wiring mess in the trunk. Installed a second license plate light. All the rear lights work now.
