Mike, Sorry to see your car go; glad it is going to a fellow member. That means you need to find a bigger garage so you can fit another 914 in it along with your Mill. You will be back. Once these cars get in your blood they remain. Best wishes always. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Pulled off the sand blasted driving lights, glass looks yellow from being pitted. Did one with the same wheel and compound I polished the plastic lenses with. Polished the glass too, only the larger pits stayed. Color is now coming from the reflector and not the sun. Had to do the other then. What else can I find to polish. ☺

QUOTE(Mueller @ Apr 9 2021, 06:15 PM) *

While Chris just talks about selling his 914.....I went ahead and sold mine. Currently gathering all the parts for the new owner, yes he is a member here.

I need my space back, with the car in the garage I’m so limited on space it is driving me crazy. I need to do some work on my mill and I just can’t due the car being right up against it. I had fun driving it and so did my twins who both got a chance to get some seat time as a passenger with a few acceleration runs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/MDB2.gif)

New owner picking it up on Saturday, then I get my small garage space back, with plans to never put another car in it’s place.

Sounds like a garage addition is in order

Bench tested fuel tank hose connections for leaks. Pressurized tank to 5 psi. Leaky supply line side fixed with Hylomar Blue General gasket compound recommended by forum members. Tank goes in tomorrow. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Took the pedal block out and replaced the worn plastic bushings with new ones made from bearing bronze. Machined them on the lathe for a perfect fit with minimum play.
Had to deal with a stripped thread on one of the fasteners that go through the floor pan. Drilled it out.

My fuel gauge was not working correctly. At times it would read 1/2 tank and just stay there regardless of the actual fuel level, other times it would read 3/4 and stick there. I replaced the fuel sender this morning. Simple job. Now it reads correctly. Hopefully it continues to read correctly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I pulled the left hand rocker cover and put in the lines to the charcoal canister. I have needed to do this since I put the 4.0L engine in. The DME is setup with a purge valve. I just need to finish the plumbing. I had to look up the 964 vacuum diagram to figure out how to hook it up, and I ran out of daylight.

Hooked up a new throttle cable. The old setup had way too many tight bends. What a difference!!

OK, got my Steve Wong custom chip back from Steve. He adjusted the chip to work with Ben's SS exhaust system and I asked him to lower the idle a bit. Now it idles at 800-825 instead of about 875. Took it for a nice little 20 mile loop and it runs great. Total turn around time was 9 days for SW Chips from the day I pulled it out to reinstalling it and driving. That's pretty darn good. I pulled out the bailing wire clips for the 2.0 L FI airbox and sent them out for cad plating. Receive them back and proceeded to install the renewed clips.
