trying to clean up the engine bay, i removed the charcoal box to clean and polish it and the strap, it looked horrible , then relocated it to the battery hold down mount. it was on the fan shroud. then go rid of the wires foe the heated seats. don’t need that now i will later relocate them. but also removing the air hose for heat, it just looks cluttered badly

@DRPHIL914 Looks nice. Where does the front hose on the charcoal canister go? (on that GC? motor)
Does the extra throttle return spring do much?
Red plug wire to #1 is a nice touch.
Just curious why your MPS is mounted backwards - is there an advantage?

Cheers

@TX914 the hose on bottom of page, the out, goes to the air box. on the other side close to firewall is air in and the small gas vent tube coming all the way back from the tank. The spring i probably dont really need anymore after having the throttle body rebuilt and new cable, but it used to not pull back far enough and idle would not come back to normal with slightly open butterfly valve..

Decided to take on installing perlon carpeting with back pad glued to it on the floor boards. Another one of those I can save a few $ and do it myself kind of things. Reoccurring theme. Looks good to me. Now to finish the rest of the inside panels.

I bought another one. It was a pretty smoking deal on a '73 2.0L. Very solid car with minimal rust. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Installed my newly recovered center console and test fit the gauges. Had the shop do stitching to match exterior color for subtle custom touch.

Thanks! It isn't perfect (but neither am i) and I think it really dresses up the interior while getting me some better gauges to monitor the engine.

Parts have started arriving for building the engine in my red car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
Took them over and put them on my rack at Middle Motors.
2270cc build to commence shortly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif)

It's been a busy week - two attempts at the main targa seal with the second one being successful - some window adjustment still needs to be done.

Swapped in a combo temp gauge that I've added numbers to - but I think it needs a different sender from the one I have in the console - will investigate that later.

oh - and the EZ-Car Lift arrived but FedEx was a day later than scheduled so I was only able to get it assembled but didn't try it out yet.

Most importantly, I got nearly 150 miles on it with a couple good stops for pictures and some drone work.

Looks great. For the second pic, was the drone in chase mode?

I have a Mavic Air but have not tried the chase mode.

Flushed out the gas tank with fresh fuel, first flush was crappy, mostly a mud like mixture, second was filterable with an old shirt and third was even better. I left a gallon or so in the bottom of the tank and will repeat tomorrow. My gut tells me another flush and keeping an eye on the filter should be just fine.

I read a few threads about tank cleaning and was not crazy about vinegar or POR or any other concoction. I did not see any signs or internal or external rusting.

This baby will be rolling down the road soon
