Took it in so Eric at Pacific Power Motorsports could use his sniffer on the tailpipe. I smelled the exhaust and it smelled like it was rich to me. Turns out it was actually running lean. He had to relax the tension on the clock spring in the Air Flow Meter by 4 teeth and then adjust the fuel mixture. Now it is running clean and the engine is really running great. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I have had my car into Eric's about 4 times now and each and every time I go in Eric treats me and my car like royalty. I have seen him with other customers and he treats them the same. I give Pacific Power Motorsports a 5-star rating.

Lookin' good, Joe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)

I attempted to install the right strut assembly in HOWARD, but it's not working out as a one man job. I'll have to get one of my mechanically-inclined neighbors to start the nut on the upper stem once I push it up into place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I also need an early pinch bolt to secure the ball joint - if anyone has a spare one laying around ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Do you have photos of the GT lid conversion?
I'm going that way if the AC gets installed...

Post #6 and post #7 on page one of my AC thread have pictures of the gt conversion. Also search for the GT engine lid thread that was started by Eric Shea. His thread has a lot more details and is the basis for what I did.

Went to collect the 914 from my local specialists, Williams-Crawford, after having the rear trailing arms swapped and fitted with Elephant Racing poly-bronze bushes and shafts, new wheel bearings etc.
Then bolted up new Group 4 Wheels LMZ 'alu-steel'-style rims, shod with 195/55 Toyo R888R rubber. This followed by a full alignment – car feels so different! New 140lb springs next week...

Hit our local Burgers & Beer monthly night out yesterday.

Nice to get the 914 out for a run around town.
Forgot I had the fuel pump shut off at first....didn't run too good w/o it that's for sure.
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

After that the car ran flawlessly.

Great to see all the different cars last night.
