I put on my Newly acquired Genuine perfect SARATOGA TOP that I purchased last weekend in Los Angeles California from a 914 owner who was willing to part with it. Drove in 110° Heat, it was Beautiful. The SARATOGA TOP performed immaculate. I no longer need to wear Sunglasses, the TOP is like a pair of Shades for the car.

Took my car to Mels Diner for their annual car show. Large turn out and lots of really nice cars. I had the only Porsche there... but everyone seemed to like it.

Good for him--especially since you stacked the deck against him, with a relatively low torque motor, and a wobbly 914 shifter.

No pics but Saturday drove Ruby to local C&C & got plenty of love and attention parked amongst new $200k Porsches, then today drove her to area brewery for Shenandoah PCA meet-up.

Good time both places.

I installed a G-Plus external oil cooler with a fan, powered by a relay that's switched on with the ignition. I plan to add a thermo switch later.Note: The sandwich plate in the photo isn’t the one I’m currently using. The original adapter bolt wasn’t long enough to secure it properly. The part list above includes the correct one I'm using now.

The silver relay in the last picture is an original L-Jet double relay. If it works, you can sell it. They are getting hard to find these days.

That adds to the mystery of this car. I bought it from my dad almost two years ago. He told me it was a 1.8L. It's a '75, and he bought it in '85. He put carbs on it soon after and didn’t get the FI system back from the mechanic.

When I started working on it to get it run decent, I discovered it has 2.0 heads. I checked the engine serial number, which confirmed it's a 2.0, and then found in the owner's manual warranty page that the type number is also a 2.0. The engine has been rebuilt at least twice. The heads aren't original, but it appears the rest of the engine is. I don’t know what size pistons were used in any of the rebuilds (not listed on any of the receipts). None of the many mechanics it’s been to ever told him it was a 2.0. The valves were gapped to 2.0 specs when I got it.

So, how does this 2.0 have an L-Jet relay? Do you know if the reley used in a 75 2.0 D-Jet?

I am going to put in a new dash face plate because the one that is in there now is peeling on the edges.
I used weldwood contact cement. Does it ever fully dry? I put the cover over the metal last week and it's still tacky. I'm hoping it will dry all the way and not peel back once it's in the car.

any thoughts or tips would be helpful.
Here's what it looks like right now, haven't trimmed it out yet.
