Why is converting to a 911 5-lug suspension better than drilling the 914 rotors?, Are the 911 bits really better? |

No fender mods will be done! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) I will look for a pair of 16x6's if the 205/45-16's don't fit! I am running 16x6's with 205/50's on bone stock fenders. They fit perfect. In fact, I put spacers on the front to fill the wheel wells a little better. He said 6's and 7's... your hood has a few scratches BTW. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |

I wonder if that would look weird.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Probably not... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/www.strangevehicles.com-1110-1361289626.1.jpg) |

What size wheels can I fit? Group: Members Posts: 4,654 Joined: 5-April 05 From: Scottsdale, AZ Member No.: 3,881 Region Association: Southwest Region |
Very funny..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) Those scratches should all be gone this summer. Along with side marker lights and possibly some other minor mods. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Now, back to the wheels.... |

With all the cars and money you have spent, what's a measly $1200 for a set of 15 X 6 fully restored (Al Reed) Fuchs stopping you from purchasing?
BTW ... 15 X 7 Cookies with 185/65 tires fit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I've test fit 16x7's in the rear with 205/50/16's and one side fit but the other side was just a bit on the fender. i think you could use rear alignment shims and throw a little negative camber to get the wheels and shave the inner fender a bit but it can be done

@sixnotfour - who did the cut/weld on widening? Do you have final wheel specs (offset, etc) on what fit? What size tire?
I like those a lot. I have an early 911 project that needs exactly that type of wheel. 7R are just not going to cut it. I just found a complete 1970 suspension (F&R) for $200. Looks like a 5 bolt conversion is in my future. I have the full front setup plus the rear hubs to convert. I want the front vented rotors so that I can put cooling ducts on them at the track. The summer in TX is brutal on brakes. I just need to figure out the rear brake situation. |

I'm hoping Eric will chime in and tell us about the group buy he is planning (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) OK... looking into this today. We would have to have 10 or more to get the pricing where we need it. That would be the following items: (2) Front Rotors (early or late) machined to 5x130 with studs included. (2) Sets of bearings and seals for above. (2) Rear rotors machined to 5x130. (2) Machined Hubs (you must supply the cores) freshly plated in silver zinc with studs included. (2) Rear wheel bearings. I'm looking to do 20% off all of those pieces. Savings would probably be around $200.00 which is amazing because all of those pieces are priced according to market already. I'll get real numbers tomorrow when my supplier is open for pestering. This would be a complete soup to nuts 914 5-lug package. Bearings, seals rotors, hubs and studs. It's all there ready for you to bolt it on. It shouldn't be too hard to find 10 people in this big ole world of ours who want this at the best price possible. Commit now and be cruising in style this summer... |
