I wonder who the friend that "went to the dark side" is that went down and took your pic for you?? You know the one who has owned a 914 for over 38 years?? Yes, the same one who's finder's fee is a dinner (2nd) that HotShoe owes him and has yet to collect!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

Hope it is restored (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) and goes to a new owner!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

She looks to have a fresh motor as it looks almost new, and inside the front trunk looks shiny and new. Hell hole isn't all that bad and right side suspension ear has NO rust on it. Yes, the rear of the longs around the jack post are rotted out, but the front of the longs are very solid and the paint on them is still shiny. It almost appears that maybe it had a leaky back window and that caused the rot. Almost looks as if the longs were replaced, the rest of the car is pretty solid. Still has some dents and crappy paint, but fairly solid. I will know more once I get it down off the trailer and start cleaning her up.

Where were you when I was looking for someone to eat dinner with Sunday night? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif)

Yes, Jt went out and validated the vin and took pictures like the great guy he is. My brother actually even went down a couple of days later and shelled out the dough and bought the car until I could get down there to get it. Big thanks to both of those guys. I wish I could restore it and give it to my brother as he has always wanted one of these cars since the '70s. But, I am poor and only own 1/2 of the car, so that won't be happening.

Ol Crusty is now off the trailer and lots of pics to be taken this weekend. The more I look at this car, the more I like it. Could be a really good deal for somebody wanting to save an LE. I will post pics when I get them taken this weekend.

Awesome job. If I were closer, I'd buy it in a sec and plan on restoring it all the way.

Real happy for the new owners. Can't wait to see pics.
