Preface: Nor would I ever endorse the butchering of Dr Porsche's well intended fuel injection design in our Type lV Fours.
However. My 914 came with its fuel delivery v. O2 management system (cam incl) already converted by the P.O. probably back in the day when man's inhumanity to machines was endemic and carb conversions were all the rage. Oh, the shame of it all:( That said, I probably speak only for myself, but we ignoramuses being too lazy to research the answer ourselves want to know, Is the ECU needed for the proper operation of Weber carburetors??? Thank you |

I'm beginning to think those cute little mystery boxes are superfluous with my dual carb gas thirsty '80's stopgap to a '60's lifestyle.

Could be a multipack unit also...otherwise it's not required.
Maybe they leave them in place to cover up the hellhole... |
