Gene,

If you are offering restoration services, I am pretty sure you need to register as a vendor on 914world. Great looking cars BTW.

Are any of these cars for sale, or just an offering to do restoration?

The blue one is my car and is enroute to me in Chicago. The orange car was delivered to another guy, also in Chicago. Not sure who got the white one. The guy who does these cars does them one at a time. He is a hobbiest that does these "restorations" one at a time out of his home workshop in Salt Lake City.

Good guy to work with and he will give you pretty much whatever you want. On my car, I put in a 911 front suspension along with larger Boxster brake calipers up front. I also had him reinforce the trailing arms since I am contemplating a 6 conversion down the road.

The flares are steel and he does a nice job on welding them onto the car.

Both engine and tranny were refreshed. The engine was fitted with 96 mm jugs which gives you 2056 cc.

Though he quotes 3 to 4 months to complete a car, mine took a little bit longer since I made a number of changes to the build requirements.

Though I believe he will work with a donor car from the buyer, he does have an "ample" inventory of 914's from which you can choose.

I was very satisfied with his skills in doing my car. Can't wait for it to arrive the end of this week.

Why is this car listed in the for sale section on Samba at $26k?

Confused.

Gene is a great guy. He is in the process of building one for me. He keeps you posted on your build and sends pictures on the progress.

I understand that...

But why put up a for sale ad for a car that isn't for sale? Shouldn't this be a sponsor link or something?

Not to be too picky, but on the blue car, the red seats are reversed. Look at the headrests in the window. They are supposed to follow the rear hood line.

Look at the bottom line of the head rest you will see the angle of it. Notice how it it is wider on the left end and narrower one the right end, that means it is the drivers seat. The narrow end should be towards the middle of the car.

Beautiful work Gene! These cars look amazing. I've been working on my for a couple of years in my spare time which I I don't have nearly enough of these days. I think the price is about right for how much work goes into restoring one of our cars. It is very labor intensive and every little part really adds up over time. My hat is off to you Sir!

There is a right and left seat back. They follow the trunk "hump" line.
