It's also on BAT http://bringatrailer.com/2014/09/23/1970-porsche-914-6-4/ Funny to read over the comments, some people really hate the 914 as it looks.

Anyone know how to get in touch with the seller? It appears there is no way to do so on the craigslist ad. maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Something funny going on with the Karman Paint tag. . Six's didn't have the body number stamped there, only the color code . . and the body number on this tage doesn't match the rear trunk Karman number. .

I only see one picture that you can see the Karmann tag in. I can't zoom in enough to get a look. What picture are you seeing the Karmann tag clearly?

Btw the EBay 914-6 Karmann tag appears to only depict the paint code, the chassis number is blank.

https://plus.google.com/app/basic/photos/ph...26gpsrc%3Dpwrd1

Regarding paint codes... The 914 restoration guide states that in 1970 the color 96D was 914-4 only.

Did Porsche allow six's to ship with special order four colors?

this Karmann tag is definitely not from a 914-6
it's including the Karmann body number from a 914-4 (2739564) and the paint code from a 914-4 (L 96 D)

Attached Image

the correct Karmann Body number of this 914-6 is 131194 and the paint code should be 80 (stamped on the badge) or 8010 (at the paint code brochures)
this would be silver metallic, but the car doesn't seem to be painted in silver metallic - it looks too dark to me ...

Hi Gustl,

my first impression was, that the car also was painted in signal orange in former times. You can see it at some more pictures, the owner gave out by request. There were some parts in "orange" to find. But otherwise the 914world-VIN list told us "irish green". So the internal number should be a 15(10).

Since I am in WA and about 2 hours south of this guy I reached out to him when on Craigslist. I was told it use to be Irish green. Run from this car; however it looks to have some real 914-6 goodies. Including a left ignition. Head scratcher for sure.

So much right, yet so much wrong. My silver '70 six has "80" for paint code, smooth door panels w/chrome base window cranks. All the real telltale details are not being revealed in the photos. Needs a COA and a date with a lift.
