Can anyone tell me what came originally on a '71 914? Green tint, top shade, or clear? I wouldn't mind picking one up for my project.

So, your original OEM windshield has a green tint on the whole thing, with a band at the top section? What is the band? Is it a darker tint?

Darker tint. Looks blue in picture but it is green.

Darker tint. Looks blue in picture but it is green.

I would think the early 70's cars were clear or green tint. I would not be surprised if the shade band was replaced but with an OEM Sekurit or Sigla windshield. I don't think too many shade band were made for those cars back then. Maybe special order added feature. I just know many folks have asked for the clear version.

There are no warehouses in CO except in Denver.

My 1970 914-6 COA says "tinted side glass" . does that mean the windshield was clear?

Yep, since you don't have Wisconsin. Where in Illinois? I am guessing Peoria.

As mentioned Northlake but there are several warehouses if travelling or have friends/ family passing thru out west especially OR, WA, CA just as an fyi.
We can always ship. WI is in the $145-155 rate. We can put several in same crate so gets cheaper per unit if few belong to local club or group.

heres his list from Jan 2014
Richard and his staff are ultra customer service oriented. Lois, I think was the very nice. I had picked one up, found a defect when I got it home, and they were still able to let me exchange it. Just dont be in a rush to pick it up and you will be fine. I am extremely satisfied. I would buy again even if the price went up.

Here is an accurate location of warehouses. Some have both color options, some have only one but we can get transferred to other local warehouses depending on the color request.
Of course we can ship if state does not have any warehouse unless you have someone coming through there. Sorry no Texas locations..

Any advantages of the green tint over the clear?

I've got sets of side glass in both green and clear so could go either way.

Is the clear going to be a normal stock item at the Las Vegas warehouse? I'm a good 9 months away from putting it on the car.
