Hello,
I am currently working on a 914-6 GT Recreation type project and am testing the waters about selling my 1975 914-2.0 D-Jet. I am trying to force myself to pick-up the pace on my restoration. I am also thinking about buying an older Double Cab VW bus to use as advertising for my wife and her Real Estate Business. So I am trying to determine the value of my 1975 2.0 D-Jet 914. Here is the story on this vehicle. I purchased it in 2006 with the engine not running as a result of a wulfert key failure on the Cam. I purchased a very nice GA 1974 2.0 D-Jet engine and pulled all good parts off the GC and made a very nice running engine that I really have had a great time driving. I rebuilt the car, Backdated the bumpers and repainted it from Scarlet Red to Grand Prix White. Interior is in great shape, everything works. The recent Okteenerfest was an absolute ball and the car never missed a beat in three days of heavy driving. Those at the event could probably chime in on what the value may be, I do have a Momo seat in the car that is a lot of fun to drive in but I have the original seat in great shape. All suspension is tight and refreshed, front and rear sway bars, Transmission refreshed by Otto in California in 2005, this is an awesome car to drive, runs and shifts like a dream! Here are some pictures, please let me know what you would estimate current value at. Pictures show Vitaloni mirrors it now has originals on both sides. Thanks, Vysoc (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) |

I can't remember all the details, as this is VG Car. Pete is is a super stand up guy! He gave his Weissach (Vysoc) away. He keeps his cars very nice!

I would say more like 8K to 10K. Color change & backdate, original cars are bringing the big money. Not sure from your description if engine is original, so if not it is another negative. Nice looking car though!

Not a car for a collector or as an investment, but a great enthusiast/drivers car. I would pay $8,500 for it but I am a cheap SOB, cheers.

I don't usually respond to these. Been looking for about a year. I would be on the low end 'cause I want to buy one. How about 10k delivered to my brother-in-law in Pensacola? Not much up north here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hey,
Thanks for all the great feedback, but I have not yet priced or submitted the car for sale yet. I do not want to break any forum rules . If I do put the car up for sale I will add additional photo's and the necessary information that an informed 914 buyer should be looking for. This is a great Web-Site and such a great group of people, thanks for all the honest feedback and keep it coming!!! Vysoc (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) |

Just kidding Peter!!! Very nice car, would be a great daily driver and probably worth more than 10, less that $15 but that all depends on who i shopping at thte time of sale. and your wife knows this, my agent says only worth what someone is willing to pay and it seems people are willing to pay more for a rust free solid running car for sure. . Dr. Phil,
As I recall we made that HARD RUN up to 5400+ ft at Clingman's Dome (Smokey Mountain National Park) and stopped at the top, because someone's engine was hot, (not the White Car! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) ). None the less the run down the mountain from there was awesome and your car was certainly alot of fun to follow. What a great weekend, for those anywhere near the Tail of the Dragon, make plans to join the Okteenerfest for next fall. I would love to have my new project there!! By the way I think I am going to take some new pictures of my car and put it on the market through 914 World. Thanks, Vysoc (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) |

GLWTSale! Phil (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) 10-12k. Could however be 15k as well. It depends on the buyer! More pics and info would help. Electric? Heat? Exhaust? What kind of wheels are those? We cannot see them in the photos. Carpets? Center console? Dash condition? Steering wheel? All these little things add up to an "appearance" and value and can add up in costs for someone to set up as they would like if they are unsatisfactory to the buyer, whereby if they are all top notch already and appeal to a buyer, he (she?) will take that into consideration and be willing to pay more than if they had to invest in such things after the purchase. All we know from your post is what you say about it, which isn't much. Details can make a car that one is willing to pay e.g. 12k for into one they're willing to pay perhaps as much as 15k for. Nicht wahr? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_flagge6.gif) M.i.M. |
