When I was in High School I used to go to Sebring every year. This shot is of my 1982 924 which I got in 1983 first year of Jr College. We were parked in the Porsche corral. It was fun when they let us do a parade lap, every one hammerd past the pace car and it was an all out race ! Good times.

I was looking at my old photos and noticed this white 914 parked next to me. Looks like it might have been a LE car...

Probably not. An LE would have the trim on the Targa bar and sail panel blacked out.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) LE also wouldn't have had sail vinyl. That looks more like an S

This could be one of the very rare 1974 cars at the end of the LE VIN range, just after it, that had the Targa vinyl and bright trim, or just an owner that changed a real LE by adding the vinyl. We'll never know.

I know the 914 in your picture very well. It was owned by a guy named Tom from Cape Coral Florida. My mom worked for him for years as a legal assistant. It's a 1976 2.0...thus the Red White and Blue "Bicentennial" paint scheme. It was a nice ride that he maintained well. I have been trying to reach him for the last couple of years. I will let you know if he still owns it when I finally speak to him. My guess is yes...

And white seats?

White interior was an option in 75/76.

Looks especially good with darker exterior colors and is very rare these days.

I traded it in on a 84 944 about 3 months after that photo was taken. I saw it a year later on a used car lot in Clearwater Florida and later driving around presumably sold to a new owner. It was a nice car and had the crazy checkered Porsche interior !

Looks like the aftermarket Flex Dam installed to the front of your 924. Did you buy that at DOBI or Parts + Polish in Mar Vista? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
