914 Gurus,
Due to my current position in my job i have been informed that I may have to relocate soon. As much as it pains me to do so I may have to sell my car. The problem being I really have no clue what to ask. It runs and drives great and has a 2.0L in it. interior needs to be reupholstered and the paint is not the greatest up close. any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Without more info but assuming no rot, $6-8k because of the paint. |

RUST is one of the biggest factors in determining value. More pictures and a detailed description can help establish value.

The pictures are a good start. However, you need pictures showing the trouble areas:
1. Pick up that spare tire and let's see the pan 2. Move that rear trunk carpet and let's see the metal back there 3. Let's see pictures of the engine (FI or carbs?). The '72's did not have a 2.0L four cylinder as an option. Is it a transplant or a rebuild? 4. Need pictures of the floor boards 5. Need pictures of the hell hole (under the battery tray) and of the sills...if you can get pictures of them 6. Is everything working (gauges, lights, etc.)? 7. Has the car ever been wrecked? 8 Do your knees hit that fire extinguisher? |

$____?????????
Has it been wrecked? What is the rust situation, most importantly in the longitudinals, trunks, and engine bay? Any rust bubbles anywhere on the body? Is there any fame sag happening? Is there anything electrical or mechanical on the car that doesn't work (lights, heat, blower motors, etc)? Is it drivable? I live in Knoxville TN can I drive it hone? I have had a stroke and have trouble with speech. Please be patient with me. Rick Orr |

I have had a stroke and have trouble with speech. Please be patient with me. Rick Orr It has not been wrecked to my knowledge, Title is clear and the body is in good shape but i don't want to say no due to not knowing 100%. I'm working on getting pics of the engine bay and trunks now. Because i work so much i haven't had an opportunity as of yet but i will very soon. The car is very drivable. I drove to Ohio last summer. I haven't had any issues mechanically with the car. secong gear seems picky about what speed you down gear in to. but other than that i haven't had any problems whatsoever. Now the issues that i do want to make known the speedo does not work nor does the emergency brake also i only drive it in the spring and summer, also some early fall because i haven't been able to get the heater to work. The engine is a 2.0L transplant from a newer 914 and has dual weber carbs. I am a very patient man. So please feel free to ask anything you need to know. PM me if you like. Also if you would like to communicate over the phone call or text. I will be more than happy to do so as well. You all have been very patient with me in the short time that i have been on the forum and i appreciate that very much. I will do anything i can to return that patience. It appears more and more that i am Seattle bound due to work. Thanks |

$3000-$4300. No rust or very very little surface rust.
$700-$1100. If hell hole is present or any other rust thru holes or weak spots from rust. Values above would be for the Kentucky area. Values might be higher in other areas of the US. |
