Looks pretty good to me at that price. Has some nice bits with it. Wouldn't consider it a daily driver with the current setup. A little more interior I'm sure it could be. Roll bar setup looks a little funny to me. Far from a n expert there though

Need engine bay shot, under battery, for the price not bad, worse case is you get another chassis. But we have all seen a lot of 914 brought back to life on these forums.

BTW, I'd cut the cage out. The from drop should be perpendicular to the logs. Also needs some diagonal bracing. Also does not look like it ties in anywhere up top. Normally they tie in on seat belt bolts. And would not know unless it has an inspection hole, what the tube thickness is. Could be Exhaust tubing. One way to know, is hit it with the round end of a ball peened harmer. Proper spec DOM will not dent, with out serious force, exhaust turning will. Not good for negotiation.

Of course you could also take an Ice Pick to everything, and start reducing price by the amount of rust you find.

BTW, the monster decal adds 10Hp to the car

Yes

Planning to cut the cage out

Remove back wing

re-mount gauges from the roll-bar

Fix brakes-tires-caliper

Compound-Polish-wax

Change fluids

vacuum/scrub

fix little things

Not going to consider it a daily driver

just a sporty weekender

Still worried about fixing the tranny would you think $1000.00 for this

Thanks

Mike

Fairly common issues there. Get DR Evil's CD & fix it yourself. Probably just needs dog teeth & Synchro's. May just be linkage bushings though. I'd start with all the linkage bushings. Then move onto the tranny. If it is the tranny. Pickup a used one & try it. Worst case at least you have more spare parts to rebuild one box. Tailshifters make great donor's for rebuilds (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Just convert it over to a Subaru trans and cable shifter.

Zip ties holding overflow bottle or Air purge bottle to engine lid torsion bars. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

No shot of the Hell Hole, but then, if you are wanting a project, this one will be a project.

I second the Subaru Transmission, easy swap, cable shifter, makes it feel like a modren car. Need to fabricate trans mounts, and shifter assembly, but thats not a big deal or you can get a bud to help.
