I have been asked about the date for the 2016 Route 66 Classic. Please help pick a weekend.

The event is usually the end of March. Some of the peeps from northern latitudes and higher elevations requested a later date. (something about snow on the roads and stuff)

The format for this year will be to start in Flagstaff on Friday.
Saturday will be a drive to Prescott, with a lunch stop in Jerome.
Banquet and Awards Saturday night. Sunday - go home.

P.S. - If anyone wants to volunteer to help with planning, please send me a PM.

There is a typo in the poll that it will not let me edit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
Option 4 should be April 29 - May 1

FYI - as for later dates . . .
May 6- 8 is out due to Mothers Day.
May 13 - 15 is out due to the Whiskey Row Marathon in Prescott.
May 20 - 22 is a possibility.
May 27 - 29 is out due to Memorial Weekend.

Not your fault some of us have that white stuff. We made out of the north last year for the first time to attend the PS route 66 event. Battled a wet sloppy snow storm to get there. We will do it again if there is a snowballs chance in hell we can make it without hitting a guardrail. The coming event we will likely be in the Alien with no heat. Any of the dates are OK with me. Work will probably get in the way again in 2016...but I plan to be there.

Grand Canyon is nice, but the last time I was out there in a rental Mustang, wife and I went to Bryce Canyon, road in and out was great. Even doubled back to drive it the opposite direction.

Did the grand canyon via helo, much easier that way.

I would love to come out, man I need to get in gear.

Isn't WCR usually the last weekend of April/first in May?

I'm thinking early April to spread it out a little.

ps. Grand Canyon usually turns into a full day event. Maybe a Sunday option?

WCR will be late may at earliest! All depends on the track which I am working on getting a date. More likely it will be in June. The later we have it the better the weather (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . The drive up to Crater lake will most likely be closed into May. Would be nice to get that drive in too.

Since this is about Route 66. I'd vote early April but will refrain from casting my vote in the poll. Usually only works for me to come if it is close to spring break when I am in Vegas for work. So odds are I won't be making Route 66 next year. So I better leave the voting to those who can make it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Remember, at 7600 ft, snow in Flagstaff and Prescott isn't unusual in April. March even more so but it would be pretty! Maybe a side cruise out toward Winslow for a peek at the big crater? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Nice! Flagstaff is 5 hours from the house which is right at the limits of my co-driver/passenger in a 914.

She once told me we need to trailer the car if it is over a 5 hour drive. I said "The car isn't a trailer queen" to which she replied "But I am"... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

If anyone is coming through Durango on the way to Flagstaff (unlikely) let me know and we will caravan.
