This was inspired by @Larmo63 's post on Travis' build thread about letting the battle scars show. These scars do have a beauty and I've often thought it would be cool to do an extensive rustoration and leave the welds raw without grinding or dressing. I thought it might be fun for people to show their Dr. Frankenstein work. Here are a few favorites from my build that I almost hated to see disappear.

If I could make my welds look good I would be leaving more to see.
Japanese do this "perfection in imperfection" as Wabi Sabi. When a dish or something is broken they glue it back together with a gold colored glue. Attached image(s) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) You could do that by brazing panels back together. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) You can use a silicone bronze wire in your Mig or Tig for that matter, picture from Miller article |

If I could make my welds look good I would be leaving more to see. When in doubt, grind ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) |

My welding skills are best compared to my drywalling skills - apply 5 gallons of mud, sand off 4.
