Does anyone here know where I can get a left side new/reco window drive?
There's a supplier here that has them for early bay window kombis that are the same mechanism but with a different radius that I may be able to adapt. Thanks |

Do you have one that's not working? If so the issue may just be the button that breaks off. May be easier to fix if not rusted out. Try 914ltd or bdstone here. They have parts hordes. A WTB in the classifieds will help too.

have to get one used. This would be a good part for 914 rubber to make. Plenty of used right ones available but the left one is extremely scarce

Thanks for the reply.
It appears to be always the left one that fails as it's the one that is the most heavily used. Having converted my car to right hand drive this isn't such a big deal for me but I'd like to repair it all the same. It's the outer metal guide tube that's sheared in half right where the pinion drive is attached so any attempt to raise the window forces the inner rack out of the tube. Maybe it can be welded? Thanks again. |

one of our mechanics has fixed a few of them, so I am sure that you can probably fix yours. We have plenty of good right ones if you want to get one to repair yours, 25 bucks!!!
