I cleaned paint and undercoating from the felt pads. If I use these, I will try soaking them in some kinds of water-repellant lube. The retaining band sections were powder-coated.

Sender installed. The bolt spacing is not even, so it goes in only one way.

I progressively trimmed the fuel lines, and got them slipped on to the tank fittings. No clamps yet.

Back to engine work today, lots of time but not many photos.
I made retaining bars to hold the cylinders in place, in prep for measuring the deck height. I made the bars from aluminum angle, so no less chance of marring the cylinder seating surface. And I made spacers from PVC pipe. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Before mounting the cylinders I had to re-install the pistons, and got out my ring compressor.
